📣 Calling All Community Champions! Let’s Stock the Blessing Boxes! 💛

We’re so excited to announce that The Community Project is teaming up with our friends at Sweet Beard Bakehouse in downtown Lawrenceburg for a Blessing Box Donation Drive—and we need YOUR help!

💡 Here’s the Scoop:Sweet Beard Bakehouse, owned by retired teachers (and Lawrenceburg grads!) Garrett and Tracy Uhlman, opened their doors in January 2023 and have been spreading kindness—and delicious treats—ever since. From freshly baked cookies and brownies to homemade soups and breads, everything is made in-house with love. And now, they're giving back to the town that raised them.

On a recent visit, Tracy and Garrett asked, “How can we help?” The answer? A community food drive to help us keep our four Blessing Boxes filled and ready for those in need.

🌍 Who We Serve:These Blessing Boxes, located in Lawrenceburg and Aurora (Tanners Creek Boat Ramp, behind Hamline Church, Aurora Dog Park, and First United Methodist Church), once served primarily the homeless. Today, they also support local families facing food insecurity. On average, it takes $750–$1,000/month to keep them stocked.

🛒 What We’re Collecting (April 16–May 31):

  • Canned soups & stews

  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, Spam)

  • Peanut butter

  • Canned pasta (Ravioli, SpaghettiOs, Chili Mac)

  • Cereal, Pop-Tarts, granola & protein bars

  • Toilet paper & wet wipes

Pop-top cans are especially helpful!
